My final page is going to be about Derek Jeter -- My favorite Baseball Player.
Derek Jeter was born June 26,1974, in Peqannock, NJ. His father Sanderson Charles Jeter and his mother, Dorothy, met while serving in the United States Army in Germany. When he was a little boy, his parents made him sign a contract every year that set acceptable and unacceptable forms of behavior. When he was four years old, they moved to Kalamazoo, MI. After moving he would stay with his parents during school year and in the summer with his grandparents in New Jersey. He went to ballgames with his grandparents and became a big fan of the New York Yankees. This is what inspired him to want to play baseball.
He attended Kalamazoo Central High School where he played baseball. He received several honors his senior year. In 1992 he received the High School Player of the Year Award. The high school inducted him into it Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003. In 2011, the Kalamazoo High School renamed their baseball field in his honor.
Jeter made his debut in Major League Baseball in 1995, playing for the New York Yankees. In 1996, he became starting shortstop for the Yankees. He is still there today.
